Laser Acupuncture–Look, No Needles!
Scared of needles? Did you know that you can receive the benefit of acupuncture treatment without having to fear the idea of a needle being inserted into your body? Low level laser acupuncture devices offer an effective alternative. Low level laser (cold laser) is not the same as the laser devices that are used in surgery. Cold laser does not produce heat, so it typically does not produce any sensation. Laser acupuncture therapy has been researched extensively. In 1991, Russia used a sensitive photon detector to measure light. They found that when a laser light was used at an acupuncture channel point, the detector picked up a light signal at a completely different point along that same acupuncture channel. More recent studies with advanced imaging systems have found out that laser acupuncture produces physiological effects not only locally, but also in the brain.
